After the flood of January 2011, Brisbane’s ferry terminals suffered almost $100 million worth of damage.
Fallon Services was appointed by Waterways Constructions to refurbish six of the worst flood affected Ferry Terminals in Brisbane. The terminals included The University of Qld, Regatta at Toowong, North Quay, QUT Gardens Point, Holman Street and Sydney Street. These Ferry Terminals were seriously damaged by Brisbane’s worst flooding since 1974 and urgently required refurbishment to allow this essential Brisbane public transport infrastructure to function again. The work included:
The project had extremely tight timeframes mandated by Brisbane City Council and required Fallon Services to supply a large amount of labour in a short period of time. Safety management is a key factor due to the nature of the works over and around water with much of the work being completed from boats on the water.
Fallon Services received a letter of appreciation from Waterway Constructions!
"We would like to say thanks to Fallon Services for the electrical repair and replacement services that they provided to the Brisbane Ferry Wharves reconstruction project. The Brisbane City Council set very ambitious timelines that you were able to assist us to meet. It was a pleasure working with your team and the result has been a credit to your company. "
