Solar for sports clubs and community organisations

Local not-for-profit sporting and community organisations are encouraged to take advantage of Queensland Government grants to install solar panels and solar hot water systems on their facilities by installing solar panels or solar hot water, sporting and community organisations can make savings on their electricity bill and help to reduce Queensland's reliance on conventional electricity generation.

From 1 July 2010, a portion of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund will be allocated to the installation of solar power or hot water over the next three years. Through Fallon Services eligible clubs can apply for up to $35,000 to install a 1.5kW solar photopholtaic (PV) system as well as heat pumps or solar hot water systems.
