Solar Hot Water Rebate

The Queensland Government is offering rebates to eligible households that replace their electric hot water system with a solar hot water system or heat pump. The system must be purchased from 13 April 2010. The rebate will reduce the cost of a solar water heater.
How much is the Queensland Government Solar Hot Water Rebate?
For eligible applicants: a $600 rebate for the installation of a solar hot water system or heat pump. a $1000 rebate for pensioners and low-income earners who install a solar hot water system or heat pump.
How much can you save? By replacing your electric hot water system with an energy efficient solar water heater you could save on your electricity bill. And with the Queensland Government Solar Hot Water Rebate you can save on the cost of your system.
According to the Qld Government, system prices range from $3800 to $6100* fully installed and vary depending on your household's needs, the price you negotiate and the type of solar hot water heater purchased.
However, here is an example: a family of four (two adults two children) not an eligible pensioner or low-income earner single storey home with good site access currently eligible for the Federal Government's solar hot water rebate
