The team at South East Queensland Energex are starting the powerlines inspection and replacement program. The aim of the program is to discover defects in the existing overhead powerlines.
This new program will mean that the powerlines between the customer property and the pole will be inspected. Short power interruptions may apply while work is being carried out.
All service and wire replacements will be at Energex cost. Energex apologies in advance for any disruptions that may occur to homes or businesses.
Energex has identified that some powerlines have deteriorated prematurely.
In a recent Energex media release says “While there is no increased risk of fires, power interruptions or shocks inside the home, ENERGEX is concerned that the deterioration of the line insulation could result in exposure to live electricity conductors. Householders, home handymen and tradespeople are advised to follow the standard safety procedures … stay away from powerlines.”
If you have any problems with your service lines contact ENERGEX on 13 12 53.
