Energex Flood Restoration Arrangements

17-Jan-2011

Energex will be conducting an initial safety assessment of residential properties on an area by area basis. If there is no flood damage that would affect electrical safety, electrical supply will be restored without any need for the customer to engage an Electrical Contractor when the network is available.

However, if a safety risk is identified during the initial safety assessment and supply cannot be restored, Energex will complete a Form 3 and leave at the customer’s switchboard to advise of supply status.

Once the household inspection has been completed, the property may be re-energised immediately by Fallon Services. If further work is required to be completed by Energex, Fallon Services will leave a form (Form 2) in the meter box/switchboard and advise Energex. Energex will then arrange for an ENERGEX crew to be on site.

People with solar panels on their roofs should also be aware that although mains power is cut from their home, the panels may still be generating electricity and present a electrocution danger.
