Hamilton and Ascot are 2 suburbs only 7 kilometres North East from Brisbane CBD. Due to many of their similarities and their proximity to Racecourse Road (the central shopping precinct for both suburbs), they are often linked together.

Hamilton Hill - Hamilton & Ascot - Brisbane SuburbWhile Hamilton is considered part of Brisbane's "old money suburb", Ascot isn't far behind it when it comes to the money stakes. In an REIQ study in 2009, Hamilton was shown to be Queensland's most expensive suburb, with a median house price of $1.19m. Ascot was found to be second at a median price of $932 000. In a reverse, Ascot has the highest average income of $58 703 and Hamilton is second with $58 695.

Ascot is also well known as the suburb with Queensland's 2 premier Horse Racing venues in Eagle Farm and Doomben. These have recently been amalgamated to become the Brisbane Racing Club and is the home of Queensland's Winter Racing Carnival.

Hamilton on the other hand is now home to Hamilton Harbour, which is a large residential development where the original Port of Brisbane was situated. This includes Parklands, Public Areas, High Rise Apartments and Town Houses and an array of shops and cafes.
